A new front door made & fitted in Stowlangtoft, Suffolk.
About The Project
A new stable-style front door, made and fitted for a home in Stowlangtoft, Suffolk.
The Client’s Vision
The owner of this charming property in Stowlangtoft wanted to replace their ageing front door. It was essential that the new door retained the traditional character of the original stable door, preserving the home’s authentic aesthetic. However, they also needed to upgrade its performance, eliminating draughts and improving security to meet modern standards.
Our Handcrafted Joinery Solution
Our team designed and built a beautiful new front door that faithfully replicates the look of the original. While the appearance is traditional, the performance is entirely contemporary. We precision-fitted high-performance Aquamac 21 weather seals and a custom double-glazed unit into the design. This combination effectively eliminates draughts and keeps the adverse weather at bay, significantly improving the home’s energy efficiency.
Premium Materials and Finishing Touches
To achieve the desired strength and appearance, the door was constructed from a specialist mixture of Sapele, Ash, and Joinery Redwood, with each timber selected for its specific qualities. To complete the classic stable-door look and enhance security, we sourced and fitted new, traditionally styled wrought iron hardware and a robust, modern lock. The result is a door that perfectly blends timeless style with modern comfort and security.
