Piano upcycling project

Piano Gin Bar Transformation

About The Project

A truly one-of-a-kind project, transforming a beloved family piano into a stylish and functional gin bar.

The Client’s Vision

Our client was looking for a creative way to upcycle their daughter’s first piano. The instrument held great sentimental value, and rather than see it fall into disuse, they wanted to give it a completely new purpose. The vision was to transform it into a unique and surprising feature for their home—a talking point that preserved a cherished memory.

Our Handcrafted Joinery Solution

We were delighted to help bring this imaginative idea to life. We carefully reconfigured the piano’s interior, breathing new life into it by turning it into a compact and stylish gin bar. Our team designed and built two custom oak veneer sections, perfectly measured to house bottles on one side and glasses on the other.

To complete the transformation, we fitted two toughened glass shelves, which add a touch of modern elegance. We then installed soft, integrated LED downlights that illuminate the contents, adding a ‘wow factor’ and turning the old piano into a stunning atmospheric feature, especially in the evening.

Premium Materials and Finishing Touches

The new internal bar sections were crafted from a high-quality oak veneer, providing a warm and classic look that respects the piano’s heritage. The use of toughened glass shelving ensures durability while allowing the LED light to filter through beautifully. This project was all about meticulous integration, carefully fitting the new elements while honouring the original form of the instrument. The result is a seamless and magical transformation that gives a treasured family heirloom a new story to tell.
